Winter walk in the woods

Sunday
Sunshine today -yay! So after lunch, we felt we had to make the most of it and went walking at Miami Whitewater Forest, one of the Hamilton County Parks over on the west side of town. When we've been there in the past, it's often been to cycle on the Shaker Trace trail, a paved multi-use trail, and we've sometimes walked there too. But today we tried a different trail in another section of the park, a hiking trail through the woods. You had to be a bit careful in some areas as parts of it were rather icy - you had to try and stay on the looser snow at the edge of the trail, but it was lovely in the afternoon light with the sun shining through the trees. casting shadows over the snow. When we'd finished that trail, we went over to the harbor area, and had a short walk along the frozen lake. Then it was back home for a nice warming mug of hot chocolate!
