Likes: baking bread, steam trains, the Lake District, single malt whisky, Egemont Russet apples, 'classical' music from Renaissance period to 20th century except Brahms, the Netherlands, real ale from smaller craft breweries, walking, porridge, football (Preston North End supporter), local street markets, world cinema, Prague, meat pies, butter pies, Wensleydale cheese, Paul Klee, Joost Swarte, Robert Sherriffs, Eric Ravillious, Frank Bellamy, Graham Thompson, George Grosz, Ronald Searle, Manu Larcenet, the call of the curlew, vanilla, sunsets, dark chocolate, black coffee and photography.
