Here is my find today in my lettering and topography quest near the Tidewater Community College | Visual Arts Center | 340 High Street.

I almost missed this one. It is tucked up under a narrow awning that was put in place after; and as you can see, it is not a good fit for the lettering as the awning touches the tops and obscures the name of the building from the street -- although now the door has a weather covering. The lighting was really tough ~ totally artificial ~ quite harsh. This entire entrance is a shame for the green marble is quite rich and nice, but it is now pinched for enough gracious space.

The typeface is an Modern Serif. Look at the thick strokes and thin strokes, there is some contrast in each letter. Nice full fillets and smaller feet and heads. Very bold, easy to read, highly legible font choice -- without the awning of course.

The building address, which I have not noted/included previously, is also using Modern lining characters (numbers). I think these two typefaces work well together.
