Blipcards

Blipfoto is based on a very simple idea, but what makes it such a unique, addictive and thoroughly enjoyable experience is the other people who take part.

At the core of our community, there's a small group of people who signed up early on and have devoted countless hours to the cause. When they take time out from recruiting, welcoming and encouraging new members, they entertain us, share some very intimate moments and take us on a wonderful photographic journey. In many ways, this group of contributors have defined what Blipfoto is all about.

We're celebrating our first birthday next month and we think its fair to say that without the commitment of these people, Blipfoto simply wouldn't have come this far. (By the time we're blowing out our big birthday candle, we'll have more than 40,000 images, 200,000 comments and 2,000,000 monthly page views.)

We wanted to find some way of recognising and rewarding this group of contributors, so we've had a pile of rather fantastic personalised Blipfoto calling cards printed up (we call them 'Blipcards'). We'll be sending a pile out to each qualifying contributor when they celebrate their own Blip birthday and get their gold cameras.

We know others will be desperate to get their grubby little hands on these things so rest assured we're looking at ways of making them available to everyone at a reasonable price. In the meantime, we hope you'll join us in thanking and congratulating Red, G, BB, Croz, wingpig, TractorFactoryPhotos, Anonymoose, bri, treegonk, lonelylittlepetunia, mackintosh, seaurchin, richie_rollover, jessietree, bugsman, Elmer, Barker, missing, sm9, sally, MCraft, fira87, laura, jens, skaterg1rl, Laurinha, brooksie, hiraeth, sp33dway, LLCoolJim, stine, tigraki, kamran and anappleaday, each of whom has at least 200 entries in their journal as of today.

Well done, people - that's one hell of an achievement.
