I have now retired from the clock repair business although I will no doubt keep my hand in. I am spending more time in the mountains than on the fens but I know some people appreciate the flatlands so I will continue to post those landscapes when I am visiting.

I repair antique clocks for a living among other things. I share my time between the fens of Lincolnshire, UK and the beautiful mountains of the eastern Pyrenees in France. That is quite a contrast both in terms of climate and scenery. Like many people, I spend too much time rushing around and not noticing things so I thought blipping would be a good opportunity to take a moment each day to pause, observe and reflect.

I can add that communicating with this friendly community brings a pleasure that reaches the parts that social networking sites fail to reach. I am also learning, painfully slowly, what distinguishes a good photograph from a mediocre one so maybe my own photography will improve.

Update June 2025

It is now five years since I became fully resident in France. No regrets! Life is busy with church administration, painting, hiking and tennis. The mountains of the Pyrenees are in sharp contrast to the flat fenland but I do get over to Lincolnshire a couple of times a year to visit family so the contact is still there.
