Marjorie's ramblings

Trying the new camera (again)

It dawned drizzly and damp, so I took the new waterproof compact on our U3A walk (the 10 mile group) from Stonehaugh. The rain/cloud dried up/lifted and for most of the day it was fine if muggy. We had a delightful walk from Stonehaugh which is a foresters' village.

Our walk included a variety of hay meadows, some more species rich than others. None was top notch, but we did see a lot of different grasses, and yellow rattle had made it into some areas.

Here we are towards the end of the walk. The new toy camera offers a panoramic option where you click just once and swing the camera gradually around. I thought you might like to see the result. It does show the remote open country we walked in.

You can see quite a lot of detail in large

The field in the foreground looks reddish. That is mainly because of sorrel in flower but also because Yorkshire fog at its best at the moment. (Yes I know I'm in Northumberland.)
