Feast for a dunnock

No rain today but very low light by the time I was sitting in the hide this afternoon. It only I had got out of bed when I woke at 0600. It was sunny and bright then.

Did lots of paperwork today and then a supermarket food shop. Not the most exciting of days but necessary.

From the hide I could see the woodpeckers coming too and fro to the bird feeders (in the shade of the tree) and then a little dunnock appeared and started to devour the meal worms. Live meal worms are no longer acceptable residents in our house, so these are dried ones that have been soaked in water.

Dunnocks are well camouflaged. Looks nicer when enlarged.

Maybe I'll get up early tomorrow.....
