A time for everything

Golden leaves

I stopped off in Swaim Park on my way back from the gym around lunchtime. It was a grey drizzly day, and I almost had the place to myself. I just loved this tree with its golden leaves and the carpet of leaves below. This evening I was out at Knitting Ministry - we were just a small group this evening, just four of us. By the time I got home, Laura had arrived home from university. She is student teaching this semester, and today finished the first part of her placement - in a second grade class in an elementary school out in the country near Oxford where her university is. On Saturday she flies to Belize, Central America, for the second half of her student teaching. Tonight she was re-packing her suitcase as it was too heavy, and I think everything just caught up with her - going to a totally strange country for 8weeks, staying with a host family, who she obviously doesn't know, and just not knowing what to expect as far as the school is concerned. So at one point she just broke down in tears. She seems to have calmed down now - I just hope she stays that way.

I see I had the same title and a similar blip last year, except that tree is in our front yard, and strangely has lost virtually all its leaves already this year, and it just didnt have the same brilliant color as last year - I hope its not diseased or something.
