Marjorie's ramblings

The end of the Festival

Here we are - it's the end of another walking festival. All the hard work in the planning and preparation, and then the delivery of all the walks. The weather improved as the week went on, and the walkers have been a brilliant bunch.

Today the long walk was from Allendale to Allen Banks. The weather was perfect and the views stunning. Even a short sharp shower at the end was lovely because it gave us this rainbow. I have always found rainbows inspiring. This one is over the trees on the east side of the East Allen. There is plenty of scope for autumn colours to develop here.

We dispensed one blister plaster all week, despite the atrocious conditions underfoot, and we welcomed a good number of new walkers.

Tomorrow is our "wash up" meeting and we will all be tired, but there are jobs to be done.

I also unblocked a shower today - after a flood this morning. Little triumphs are so delightful.
