A time for everything

Winter has arrived!

Sunday
After a week of cold temperatures, the lake at Rowe Woods has finally frozen over - last winter it was already frozen over by the second week in December! It was a cold, but beautifully sunny, clear blue sky day, and I thought it made quite a picture this afternoon, with the dusting of snow on the ice, and the long shadows falling across the lake. I had started out trying to take some bird pictures (not very successfully!) from one of the hides, and in doing so I had taken my gloves off. It took quite a while for my fingers to warm up again. However, once we'd climbed up a few hills, I'd warmed up and even took my hat off!
