Dark sunset over the Wadden Sea

Ominous clouds rolling in over Moddergat, Friesland, The Netherlands.

After two weeks of grey skies and/or a total lack of time, it was time to get out again for landscape photography. I returned to Moddergat, expecting to see the last sunlight on the Wadden sea coast. Instead, clouds came rolling in, blocking the sun and making the scene a lot less beautiful than I know it can be.

A slight underexposure for extra drama in the sky and some tweaking in Lightroom to get enough details in the foreground. Lee .9 (3 stops) hard grad filter applied to balance the lighting on the scene.

Somewhat bigger.
