Beating the water

A quiet start to the day meant that when I went for my morning run, I'd missed the better tide level for photos of waders, and there were more people about. I was able to get really nice photos of a juvenile karoro (Southern kelp gull) and a juvenile kawaupaka (Little pied shag; actually completely black at that age).

Gardening again today; a joy to be doing that. Daughter J had come north last evening, and today we were joined by C and the boys. late this afternoon, I took the boys down to Our Beach, where among other activities Mr H used a stick to try and beat the water into submission.
