A Wreath at Every Stone

I wanted to get out to the national cemetery before they take the wreaths away from the headstones. Hundreds and thousands of graves, each one with a green and red wreath.

Our recent snow has made it kind of hard to see the wreaths, but it is still both uplifting and sobering to see the sight.

I think I was a little mis-leading in my last cemetery picture. Our national cemeteries are not just for those who have died in battle. All you have to do to be buried here is to have served in the armed forces, or...to be married to someone who served.

It's always a grim reminder that death waits for no one. On a cold Michigan day (15F), there were 2 burials going on as I drove through.
