A River of Iris

Dear Diary,

This horse boarding stable is at the end of my road and each year I look forward to seeing the river of wild iris that flows through one of the pastures.  There is a small stream there and its banks have been taken over by these blue flags, a local name for the iris.

Sometimes you can see a horse standing amongst the iris but today this one was just nibbling the fresh green grass.  All the rain has been a boon to all the vegetation pumping it full of life.

The windows for the porch arrived yesterday so work will start again next week. It will be great to get it done.  Now, when rainstorms come I can close them and keep the porch furniture from getting soaked!
