Heads

I met Mrs C at Stowe this morning. Bright and early at 9.30am - we got there before the volunteers!!
We had a lovely walk taking yet another new route. Honestly, there's no stopping us now!!
We haven't been up to the far side of the Gardens for a couple of years since they changed the entrance. So we intrepidly set off up the mountain little hill to revisit old haunts. Luckily Mrs C is as unfit as me so we huffed and puffed and groaned our way to where the old cafe used to be.
It was just an old Terrapin hut but I always loved it! A cup and tea and cake as soon as we arrived and then off on a walk. Not anymore! There's nothing where it used to be.
It was really lovely being back up there. It's been so long since we've been it all felt new!
But at the same time there were loads of memories of all the children when they were little - toddling along, rolling down hills, having picnics, singing in the round temple, the steps where I sat struggling to breastfeed Miss E and the kindness of a woman who came and gave me a hug and told me it would get easier. It did!
From there we walked the fifteen miles back to the new cafe and went wild with tea and half a sausage roll each. Outside because the temperature went up by about fifty degrees as soon as we got there!
Home to more sorting.
And the kind of email debacle that your worst nightmares are made of!!!
Hilarious and mortifying at the same time!!!
