The Gothic Folly

Another lovely walk at Stowe with Mrs C this morning. It was boiling hot already by 10am so we decided against walking up the hill past the Folly as it was up a big hill there was no shade! We walked round both lakes instead and it was fabulous. Shady, birds singing, a lovely breeze, squirrels, fighting fish/otters (it was hard to tell but there was something weird going on in the lake!), killer geese, swans, cygnets.
Followed by a pot of mint tea and half a sausage roll. Yummy!
The car was like an oven when I got back in. 35 degrees on the thermometer!!
Home for a couple of hours ineffectually moving things around packing and then to school for a quick meeting with Miss L's teacher about her learning profile going into next year. She's exceeding most of the targets set for her age and is more than ready for Year One. Yay!!
Then it was to swimming - which was hot and fraught but Miss L did brilliantly - and a mad dash to Bicester for Fat Club. Three and a half pounds on in the three weeks since I last went. Oops!!
We didn't stay to the meeting but went to my mum and dad's for tea in the garden and a look at loads of leaflets my mum brought back for me from Normandy.
It's got a bit overshadowed by moving house but we're off on our holidays in a couple of weeks and I can't wait!! I booked it all last May and now it's finally almost here! Disney, a gite, a B&B and a safari tent. Brilliant.
As long as the French stop striking long enough for us to get there!
