Marjorie's ramblings

Oats and peas and barley grow.....

Well, not quite. Here you see a field of barley with some of last years' wheat and a touch of wild oats.

Today was the Walking Festival charabanc outing to Durham. It's one way we can thank the volunteers who lead and back up on our walking teams for the festivals.  We chose a great day for weather. People were able to go to see the Magna Carta exhibition, the cathedral or the shops. Some went to the gardens at Crook Hall.  I was keen to have a walk and found an internet download for a 5.5 mile route to look at the missing rivers in the glacial valleys to the north west of the city.

It's always amazing when you find a nature reserve very close to a city centre, and then fields and open views within earshot of busy main roads.  Eight of us went and had a great time.

I lost my way only twice!   Aggie was very well behaved but hated the high stiles.

Ready to put my feet up now.
