Time for a day out!

We've been back from holiday for over a month now and it's more than that till we go away again so we decided it was time to have a day out.

We are National Trust members and use it less than we should so we decided to go to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal in North Yorkshire.

It was predictably busy as it is school holidays but good to see so many foreign visitors to Yorkshire. Once inside there was plenty of room for everyone and we walked around the entire grounds, stopping for a picnic near the Temple of Piety overlooking the Water Gardens at Studley Park.

I took lots of pictures but liked this one of this little clump of Harebells growing on the parapet of the bridge leading over to the Abbey, seen in the back ground.

Throughout the grounds there were art installations entitled 'Folley' appropriately displayed in the various follies to be seen here. You can see a picture of one of them, the Octagon Tower in the extras with Chris in the mirrored interior!

A very nice day out in Yorkshire.
