Life in Sunny Dubai

Mechanical heart

It's been a really relaxed day today! And much cooler. In fact, there's been such a noticeable drop in temperature, we only needed one a/c on in the flat even at the hottest time of the day. I was beginning to think all three units needed to be replaced as they seemed so ineffective, but I guess it was just too hot outside.

Gs car which had a new used gearbox put into it just before we left on holiday needed to have it tweaked a bit, so we finally took it back to have it seen to. As usual, in front of the mechanic, it performed flawlessly, until G took it on a test run, and the fault revealed itself. We will get to know more by Monday.

Stopped off at Lamcy to get G some foundation from Boots and ended up doing other things, but at least that little detour meant we missed the long queue of traffic waiting to come into Karama at rush hour. Wonderful. Back to work tomorrow with an early start...

Oh nearly forgot! My blip is of course - of an engine that was lying on the shop floor. I am fascinated by the complexity of it and thrilled with what it does in the mobility and freedom it gives me. [Not this one in particular; you know what I mean...]
