Does this one count?

I have heard one or two Ruru during the year, but being that they are owls, and therefore nocturnal, seeing them is not easy. The Morepork (the name given by English settlers to the Ruru) is part of the sound fabric of the countryside for me. I have caught a glimpse of one once.

This mural is on a wall in an alley off a street off Karangahape Road. It is behind a fence which is partly barbed wire, and is designed to keep out wandering persons of the night who may use this alley way. It appears to be on the rear wall of part of a panelbeaters premises.
