This weather is drippy!

Dear Diary,

On my way home yesterday from Bethlehem,NH the rain started in earnest.  It is still raining this morning.  A few degrees colder and we would be buried in snow!  Actually, I'm sort of glad we aren't but a little snow would certainly make it feel more like Christmas!

From the expansive landscape of Mount Washington yesterday to this intimate detail today.  Looking out and looking in.  My Robert Frost poetry walk yesterday has put me in that sort of mood.  I've added a photograph of one of his poems that particularly moved me on my walk.  Trees are, for me, the connecting link of the landscape...reaching deeper and higher than what surrounds it.  They remind us to look down and inward as well as up and outward.  We are incomplete otherwise.

Today is a perfect day to finish wrapping gifts and to sit with a cup of tea by the fire.  Perhaps my journal notes from my walk yesterday will morph into a small poem of encounter.  I may not have Frost's way with words but the attempt to render a physical experience in a literal way is always a welcomed exercise on a drippy day.
