Christmas past and Christmas present

This is the first year that Mum has not been able to make an embroidered card to give to me at Christmas. Over the years she has made a range of wonderful cards, some of which are in today's image. She is disappointed about this year, but there was no way she could do the embroidery before the operation; now she has to be patient to see if the surgery has worked.

We had a quiet day together. We had a lovely meal with turkey from a turkey crown with roasties (a rare treat when someone is on a diet!), roast vegetables, sprouts (thanks Margret) and peas. Our starter was melon (very healthy) and the traditional Christmas pudding came after a pause....

I'm hoping my cold will magically disappear and Mum is hoping that her tendons will gradually heal and work. Looking forward is the best way.

Happy Christmas to all and let's hope we are still blipping for Christmas 2016.
