TINY TUESDAY AND MONO MONTH CHALLENGE

Today we went to the Service of Thanksgiving for Vi, the wife of Mr. HCB’s cricketing friend, Keith, who died on the 18th January.

I didn’t actually know Vi, having only met her once, but it was obvious from all that was said in the service that she was a wonderful Christian lady, who lived out her life and faith by caring for others and making sure that everyone was happy;  she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.  The service was truly inspiring, the church was full and there was a lot of laughter, which was how Vi had said she wanted it to be.

The little glass cross - to fit in with the Tiny Tuesday challenge - is only two inches high, but was given to me by Shirley, a special friend who died several years ago, so of course, I treasure it and have been thinking of her today too, and the impact she had on my life.

This song, which I used to sing many years ago, was played at the beginning of the Service of Thanksgiving and the chorus says:

Now I belong to Jesus
     Jesus belongs to me
Not for the years of time alone
               But for eternity.

We will be thinking particularly of Keith as his family returns to America very soon, but are so pleased that they were able to be with Vi before she died.  We thank God for her life and pray that her family and friends will be blessed in the coming days.

Mr. HCB and Keith will be going off to cricket once the season starts in April.  We understand that Keith's son wants him to go over to America for a holiday sometime in the summer, but, of course, this has to be worked in around the cricket fixtures.  However, I'm sure something can be worked out!
