A beautiful welcome

It's been a long day - we were up at 4.30am to get to the airport in time for our flight to Zurich. That all went well with an easy flight after only a 30 minute delay on the runway (they really need that third runway!) However when we set off from Zurich airport we encountered horrible traffic and our usual 1 hour 45minutes drive from Zurich to Klosters took 2 hours 40 mins! Even the roadside restaurants had queues of cars snaking out almost onto the motorway and I won't tell you how long I queued to use the toilet (why is there always such a long queue at the ladies and never the men's toilets....oh right, urinals)

There was low cloud and it was snowing lightly, and then the sun broke through the clouds and you can see the shafts of light here in this scene. When we arrived, the skies were azure blue and it looked amazing!

We went straight to the supermarket to get some food (shops are not open on a Sunday here, even the supermarket) and quickly unpacked. Then Gavin and I went to the residents annual meeting for our apartment building which was interesting, as it was in Swiss German and our neighbours had to  kindly keep translating for us. German is almost understandable but Swiss German is something else!

We have only got back from the meeting now so I doubt I will have time to look at journals tonight.
