6th Year blip trip!

2,190 consecutive blips adds up to 6 years of blipping. Who would have thought it!

So today I wanted to go somewhere special for a blip and I expect you are wondering what is special about this little clump of wet daffodils?
Number one they are wild daffodils and no more than 6- 8 inches high, and secondly they are growing in the wonderful Farndale Valley in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Most of the daffodils and the path skirt alongside the River Dove.

The weather was against us today but it was forecast to be better on the east side of the county in the afternoon so we thought the Yorkshire coast would be perfect. But even the lovely east coast can be a bit uninspiring on a dull day. So idea two was to stop off en route at Dalby Forest to take in the Brides Stones on the moors above. Stopping for coffee at the top of Sutton Bank the cloud was so low we decided this wasn't too good an idea either!

Chris then suggested Farndale, wet yes but perhaps less busy because of it. So off we went, ill clad for muddy walking and muddy it was. We should have known as the car park was closed due to flooding. Never mind. We were both wearing Gore Tex walking shoes that will survive and kept our feet dry but mud was spattered up to our knees.

I have been here three times in my life. Firstly as a child and then with Chris 35+ years ago but it was worth visiting again despite the conditions. We carried on to the end of the valley tempted by signs to the Daffy Cafe. Further tempted when we got there by the smell of bacon so after a large mug of tea and a bacon butty for under £5 we returned via the fields above the valley which were even muddier.

By now it was 3.30 and it seemed a good idea to give the coast a miss and return home. It just shows what blippers will do, along with there long suffering spouses and partners to find that special photograph or just experience what it takes to do so!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our blip trip out today and I'm sure there will be many more to come. So glad the blip community and all those wonderful people I communicate with each day, plus many others I am yet to meet, is going to continue. It and you are such a big part of my day and life.
At home now and enjoying a glass of Prosecco, well it is a celebration!
