Life's Little Moments

The boys...

Final day of the BOBB2016 and we packed it with lots of action. We started out early this morning at Sweetwater Wetlands where in spite of on seasonably chilly temperatures, we managed to see all kinds of interesting birds and critters. For me seeing a flock of about 20 Male bobolinks was one of the memorable highlights of the morning, making today's blip choice relatively easy. I usually only see the occasional Boblink during the fall migration so seeing a group this large in full breeding plumage was really a treat. There were some other great sightings this morning, including a banded watersnake, several least bitterns, swamp sparrow, nesting killdeer and a purple Gallinule.

In the afternoon a smaller group of us went over to La Chua trail where we saw lots of gators, butterflies, lizards and a smaller assortment of birds.

We are gathering for our final dinner tonight before we head off in our different directions tomorrow.

Apologies for my lack of comments but I will catch up when I am home later this week.
