St Abbs

Another lovely day, though the sky wasn’t as blue as yesterday.  I almost went out on my bike again, but housework won (boo!).  BB had so much stuff lying around, I threw it all in two big bags and deposited it in his room.  He wasn’t very happy and blames me for making his room untidy (untidier perhaps, but untidy - no!).

After lunch we headed down the coast to St Abbs and walked to the lighthouse and back along the cliffs.  As we drove down it seemed to be getting duller, but once we were out walking it really brightened up.  It was a perfect day for the walk – we could see up to Torness, the Bass Rock, North Berwick Law and over the Forth to the Lomond Hills and then south to Holy island, Lindisfarne Castle and Bamburgh Castle.  We stopped at the café for some refreshments on our way back to the car and BB had his first magnum of the year.  He didn’t like the walk.  His reasons were many and varied: he fell over twice, grazed himself (so small you couldn't see), was freezing cold (it wasn't even cold!), he was really thirsty (we all were), he got stung by a nettle and prickled by a thistle, and to round it all off the walk was really long (he has done it before!).  What a boy!

We came home via the supermarket.  TT cooked tea, I delivered leaflets for the scout jumble sale, and BB practiced his cello.

Here is a view from the cliffs, to St Abbs and beyond.  It was much calmer than the last time we were in St Abbs.  Yesterday’s extra was cows, today’s extra is inquisitive lambs – which I am much happier with.
