Sparring stallions

Thank you so much for the stars and hearts of yesterday's image - I don't think I have ever had so many hearts before. I am sorry I cannot reply to you all now but it is very busy here, we have no down time - when we are not shooting, we are having classroom style photographic sessions which have been such an added bonus to this trip. We have a great group of people, three have come all the way from the USA and one from Portugal, and the others are from the UK.

Yesterday evening we had another session with the horses, this time in a deeper lagoon where the mud was not so sticky and they could gallop at full pace. I managed to get some great shots with their hooves right out of the water. Another early start this morning to go and photograph a pair of sparring stallions - in the early morning light it was a beautiful sight. They are young males and sparring is mostly playing, though they do give each other quite a kick at times and have been known to bite. In between the sparring they are very tender with each other.

Now I am about to go to a session on composition, and then we are going out at 6pm to photograph the black bulls. I will try to get some panning shots to see if I can get some controlled motion blur. We photograph the bulls from the back of a flatbed truck as they are rather wild and can be dangerous.
