The North Shore Path

(... Davaar island and Ailsa Craig)

15.2C starting with some rain then mostly cloudy with some brighter spells. A few spots of rain later in the afternoon. Moderate WSW then Westerly then WSW breeze.

After lunch Maeve the Deerhound and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.

Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. Deacon Blue on the iPod Mini (The Hipsters then The Singles). I went out Low Askomill to the old shipyard and kept going out the North shore path past Baraskomel farm and out to the gate before the last stretch to Macringan's point where I turned round and came back. There were one or two yachts and a couple of fishing boats.

In the harbour both BBC Holland and Louis were tied up at the new quay, one on each side. I think one has brought wind turbine tower sections from elsewhere and the other is taking away wind turbine sections from the factory at the airport.

I walked round the esplanade to the harbour and watched on of the wind turbine tower sections coming along the road on a low loader, two police cars out in front stopping traffic and an escort van behind. Just by the harbour the convoy went along the wrong side of the road to make the bend at the roundabout at the bottom of Main Street easier for the long load. One good reason to stop the traffic. I came back home through town.

Afternoon music ... Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water then Paul Simon's Graceland.
