Marjorie's ramblings

They're behind you

It's Wednesday and the Haltwhistle Walkers were out in force today. We even had two new people with the long walkers, who numbered 25 in total.

Dave and Lil lead us on a a 12 mile walk from the hamlet of Spartylea. That meant a steady slog up onto the moor tops, then walking through the heather and enjoying the most wonderful open views. The heather is beginning to colour up already. I always think that is the sign that summer is drawing to a close and autumn is approaching.

Here is George waiting at one of the marker posts. I know he is looking out of the image, but I rather like the juxtaposition of him and the people toiling up, some significant way behind. (You will notice that I'm up already!)

Arth and Aggie would like to tell you that we definitely walked 12+ miles today and they would like a rest tomorrow. Brian's knees were troubling him a lot, but his have no names so we can't sympathise with them!
