On the Beach

We went to Milton Keynes this morning to get the Little Misses' hair cut. As usual they had fun playing computer games and watching Minions. Best hairdressers ever!! (See extras)
From there we went to the beach outside John Lewis. I found a deckchair and plonked myself into while the Little Misses built a fantastic sand village. Not just a few random sandcastles for my daughters - no, they had multiple castles linked by tunnels, complete with courtyards and prisons. There was also a village with its own graveyard.
It was fab!
Although the other children there didn't appreciate its brilliance and kept running over it and knocking bits of it down. Miss E got more and more distraught and couldn't understand why people couldn't see the wonderful citadel and weren't being more careful. She took herself off to find a more secluded spot and as usual it broke my heart to see her trying so hard to get things just the way she wants them - perfect.
Once the sandcastles had been completely demolished she came back and  they had a happy half hour playing volleyball. Until she started making up random rules and Miss L wasn't quite complying.
Life's hard for her sometimes. I hope - but I'm not convinced - it'll get easier as she gets older.
Anyway, it was mostly fun!!
And their hair looked nice!
