Prize Winners

We have had a very nice day out visiting old friends who live near Cartmel in South Lakeland. A pleasant catch up on family and friends and a lovely lunch.

The weather was a bit mixed and dull at times but these amazing Dahlias along their drive were certainly bright enough Peter was out in his shorts dead heading them when we arrived.
He had recently won a prize with them at Cartmel show.
Indoors more winning work was on show. This wonderful paper folding work got Pam a first prize at the same show. (Extra)

We popped into the little town which is delightful with it's unique priory and race course but not made for the motor car, parking and getting through the twisty streets was chaos. Managed a quick look at the Priory before leaving

I love the gentle countryside around the Cartmel Fell area just as much as the more dramatic north Lakeland fells.
