An ordinary life....

Day 2...

Backblip

A restless night for David and Alan.  David had to sleep in a chair but thankfully they've found him a camp bed for tonight.

Alan was quite sad looking when I arrived and not impressed by the oxygen mask the nurse made him wear as his level was quite low.  They've arranged a chest x-ray as they're concerned he has a chest infection.

He's had his first doze of steroids and will also be given an antibiotic if chest X-ray confirms infection.  They are taking him for a colonoscopy first thing tomorrow morning as Gastro consultant wants to see just how bad his digestive tract is.  He will need a general anaesthetic for that so I suspect it will be cancelled if a chest infection is present.

Spent the afternoon trying to cheer him up but he was too tired and sore to be cheery for long.  His appetite picked up though and he wanted tummy milk and by 6pm he was much brighter.  Funnily enough his cheeriness  coincided with the arrival of Kirsten, his attractive blonde support worker.  He dozed off gazing at her as she held his hand.

He'd just decided to watch the Strictly results when he had to go for his chest x ray.  When he returned he wanted to watch the tennis, so we got to see Andy Murray winning.  Well done Andy!  :-)))

David got an email from the guys he was at the Lake District with, saying they were sorry he'd had to miss the rest of the weekend and they hoped Alan was better soon.  Attached to the email was a voucher for dinner at Cromlix from all of them.  I was so touched I cried.

No result of the chest x-ray before Kirsten and I left at 10.30pm.

House feels very empty without my boys.
