The Terminal Velocity of Snowflakes

We were both tired this morning, but glad to have heating (and new specs and a repaired tooth)!  I spent part of the morning learning how to programme the central heating. Why it has to be so complicated is beyond me.

This afternoon we went to the Live Theatre (our favourite) to see The Terminal Velocity of Snowflakes. This was in the Studio Theatre. Let me quote from the programme: "Rosie and Charlie are two people in many places. From youth to old age, from Trafalgar Square to  Chilingham Road. The (play) takes a touching look at what it means to grow up, fall in love and how the tiniest, most seemingly insignificant detail can change eternity. Or then again, maybe not. A play about fate, friendship and snowflakes."

There was quite a bit of quantum physics too. My blip shows a composite of the two young actors, Dean Bone and Heather Carroll. They were brilliant. They were on stage the whole time on a minimalist set. They started as a 7 year old girl and 9 year old boy. They inhabited many ages. "Did you know that no two snowflakes are alike?" asked Rosie at their first meeting.

We were entranced and joined them in a roller coaster of emotions. Hats off to Nina Berry, a young writer, for her brilliant text.

I caught up with Heather while waiting for Mum (in the loo). Dean appeared a good 10 minutes later. I just had to put them together in the snow.

The play finishes tonight but I hope it will have another run so that you can see it.
