Hand-knitted cable glove

Normally Mr hazelh does the bulk of the driving when we are out and about on our travels. This morning, however, on account of his wrist injury, I took charge of the car on the journey from Northumberland back up to Edinburgh. We were well entertained along the way listening to a Radio 4 extra programme to celebrate 75 years of Desert island discs.

Once home we unpacked, had some lunch, made a trip the library to collect a stack of novels (all for me), popped into a charity shop and found a black tunic dress for £4 (cf the fruitless search in the shops a couple of weeks ago), and called in for tea with our friend Véronique and her daughter Zippy (Tzipporah).

Zippy is a fabulous craftswoman. She was making the second of this pair of gloves when we arrived - on knitting needles the size of cocktail sticks.

This evening we will enjoy our own quizzy Monday by watching Friday's Only connect and tonight's University challenge. I will also be baking a cake in honour of a blip-visitor who is coming for afternoon tea at my flat tomorrow.
