Senseless...

Today was sallying along rather nicely.  

The painter was painting and whistling as he went, Alan was watching McBusted in concert, Ed and Elaine had visited and we'd enjoyed three hours of chatting, coffee drinking and indulging in hot cross buns and mini chocolate brownies.

Just as my thoughts were turning to tidying up and getting organised for dinner, the news started coming through about the terror attack in London. Awful, just absolutely awful.

There's really not much to be said that hasn't already been said after all the other senseless attacks and my heart goes out to all those who have lost loved ones tonight.  It's incomprehensible that those poor souls who lost their lives today were going about their usual routine this time last night, and tonight they are gone.  Torn from their lives in such a brutal senseless way and torn from their loved ones.  

Both my parents served in the Metropolitan Police and my heart goes out in particular to the family of PC Keith Palmer, who lost his life today in the line of duty.
