Tiny Tuesday: The Past Revisited

After rainfall
rays of sunlight sneak
past the dull grey clouds
brightening this small garden
where camellias still bloom

Actually, that line could be "after wintery showers" today, although we've not had anything worse than sleet down here in the South West.

Today's theme for tiny Tuesday is Time, as set by Trisharooni.  This shot is a bit of a cheat, although I've blipped these camellias before: last time I took a shot of the non-variegated throwback.  Its interesting sometimes to look back, both to see if things are flowering at the same time this year as previously, but also to see how one's approach to the flower differs over time.

Cathy and I have spent an interesting evening tonight at the retirement party for the solicitor responsible in part for our training as lawyers some thirty plus years ago.  There were a host of familiar old faces present, many of whom neither of us have seen for 30 years or so.  The emphasis was on old faces, 30 plus years leaves its mark on us all.  In a fitting tribute there were also twenty-five of his twenty-seven former trainees present, some of whom had travelled a long way to be there and all of whom had gone on to have successful careers of their own.  A fine tribute to the man and very much a moment in time to be savoured.
