The Other Side Of The Bridge

I didn’t get out of bed till late, though I had been woken by BB much earlier, I had managed to doze on and off for a bit longer.  We had another scorchio day.

We went into town.  The farmers’ market was busy, with the political parties all out in force.  Three had gazebos pitched and manned by their party faithful.  The Lib Dems had a small wooden table.  The leader of Scottish labour -  Kezia Dugdale – was there chatting to stallholders and supporting her candidate. The Tories had their regulation party cagoules on which must have been unbearable in the heat, and the Lib Dems had a lamb!  It was obviously a pet lamb and the children were delighted with it as it wandered about.

BB’s birthday celebrations continued this afternoon.  He and four friends went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean film.  TT was in charge, while I went and  met a friend for some shopping and some very nice cake.  After the film I met them and we all went for pizza and birthday cake.  BB was not expecting the cake, and was a little embarrassed when we all started singing happy birthday to him.

He was all for his friends coming back to the house, but TT thought it best to just drop them all home.  Just as well really as BB was tired.  He’s had a busy two days – but he has had a great birthday.

Here is a view from the other side of the bridge.  The swans and cygnets were there, but hidden by the cow parsley.  The extra is the Lib Dem lamb!
