Too Cool for School

We went up to a lovely pub near Rugby today for Mr P's 40th birthday party.  It was great to see him, Mrs N, Miss S and Baby S again so soon after our fabulous French holiday.
It was a lovely party - sunny weather, climbing frames and a bouncy castle in the garden, open bar, tasty food, nice people. Perfect!!
Miss E didn't cover herself in glory - asking for food the minute we got there, asking for more food, asking when pudding would be - despite the buffet still being out, practically diving face first into the birthday cake while we were singing Happy Birthday and the candles were still alight, saying she was bored, asking when we were going home......
But she eventually ate enough made a friend to play with and had fun playing badminton and skipping.
Mr K and I sat in the sun chatting to the lovely Ms H who we've met a couple of times before. It's funny when you meet other people's friends and they're so nice and easy to get on with you know you'd be friends with them too if you saw them more than once every few years!!!
I was very pleased with myself for staying on plan today. As well as free beer there was homemade lasagne, chips, sausages and French bread. But I was good and had diet Coke and chilli and rice. I felt very virtuous!!
Home to Archie and a bit of trampoline action before bed.
