Marjorie's ramblings

A day at home

We have both been at home all day.

I've been busy with festival stuff,  mainly completing new adverts for the programme and sending the final draft to the printer. There was also a bit of a ruffle about the volunteer allocations which I think we have sorted.

Mum was potting new streptocarpus and African violet plants this morning. Then she worked hard to complete an embroidered card for the start of tomorrow' Corbridge Music Festival. This year is the 25th season for the Gould Piano Trio and we will be seeing them tomorrow at the opening concert and then at the reception afterwards.

The silver 25 has caught some colours in the light, but it truly silver throughout. The embroidery is ribbon work. Tomorrow this will be assembled in an aperture card.

Tomorrow it will also be 30 years to the day since my father died. We can't believe it is so long ago and, or course, still miss him.

Bowlby has been behaving more and more like Simon's Cat and is now shut in the utility room for the night. She settles down there and sleeps on the hard windowsill rather than on the fleece she is offered. Sometimes, we just need a break from the constant meowing and demands!
