Family visit

Anthony (cousin Maureen's second son), wife Kathi and their children, Lewis and Emilia, came to visit today. They drove from Ilkley, where Anthony's parents live, and stopped here for lunch en route to the ferry at North Shields.

They have been in England for their annual holiday with Anthony's siblings and his parents.

It is two years since I stayed with the family in Austria. Both children have grown much taller and have matured a lot too. They both speak excellent English. I told Lewis that no one would know that English is not his first language and I think he was pleased.

Here is Emilia with Mum and with Rosy, the rabbit. She was very reluctant to bring Rosy into the house in case she forgot her. We promised not to let this happen!

At lunch, when the children ate very well indeed, Lewis was looking at the titles of the books on my shelves. He spotted David Walliams, The Boy in the Dress,  and wanted to read it. He found Mum's lounge and took himself off to read there. Sadly he could not finish the book before they left for the ferry. My extra shows him reading.

These children are great readers, but all their reading is done with books and none online. They are flourishing with this method.

I cleared up and then had a little lie down after they left!!
