Isle of Arran

I shut the shop and ran away today.

The weather forecast was for wall to wall sunshine. Mid-August - too good to miss. 

I took the ferry over to Arran and tried to get up Goat Fell. A sore knee defeated me very close to the top. Disappointing, but I was going to need that knee to be in reasonable working order on the way down.

The Blip is the ferry on the way over this morning. Extras are the view to the summit close to where I had to turn back - very steep and rocky - and the view from the same spot looking down.

Anyway, 6 hours of hiking/climbing. One of the best bits was getting to the beach at the bottom, taking my socks and shoes off and walking in the water to cool my feet off.
