Deserted

A beautiful, mild Autumn day, and this morning we headed down to Alnwick for a browse around the Antique and Vintage Fair, mainly because we knew that there would be a stall selling good quality second-hand tools. MrM came away with some chisels and, despite good intentions to spend nothing, I acquired a very nice map of Norfolk (where I was born and grew up) dated 1835. Oh well!

After coffee and cake, we went on to Alnmouth for a walk on the beach with Louie, who enjoyed a brief paddle. It wasn't altogether deserted - but only a few other dog walkers around. Home for lunch, then MrM went off to move a 'squirrel-spotting' camera to a different location in the woods, and I walked up to the Common in the hope of watching a red squirrel or two. I did spot one today but it was on the move, high in the trees, and didn't stop by the feeders. No photos of squirrels, but I take one of the Wooler synchronised swimming team perfecting their routine (extra)
