Costa Smeralda

So with T driving the 4 of us set out - it felt a bit like a sunny version of 'Last of the Summer Wine'. As J and V have hit it off so well I got to sit in the front - the whole day.

We went east towards Olbia and then stopped at Porto Rotondo for coffee. Many, many beautiful boats but no celebs.

On to Cappriccioli beach for our picnic lunch (courtesy of breakfast) and the game of avoiding the Senagalese beach traders. I had a swim, in the warm waters of the Costa Smeralda. It was lovely.

Then off again, north to Palau but we didn't stop and kept going to Santa Teresa di Gallura, for an ice cream. The others did some shopping, I went a looked at Corsica - so close across the straits.

Then west to along the Paradise coast to Porto Torres. The scenery is stunning - and no high rise.

We got back at 6 so time for a shower and brush up before the pre-prandial drink - they make a mean g & t here!
