Life's Little Moments

Ubiquitous

That's a good description of these medium-sized, plump sparrows who show up in our woods every fall usually sometime in October.  They are often heard before seen as they have a beautiful whistling song which they sing all year.  Come spring, they'll disappear, headed north to their breeding grounds.  There are probably a dozen out in the yard right now, foraging under the feeders and back in the undergrowth at the edge of the woods, kicking snow out of the way to uncover seeds.  Very cute and quite jaunty with those bright yellow eye-brows.

We ended up getting around 4 inches of snow yesterday by the time it was all over, so SIL and I did a little clearing of sidewalks and such this morning (while Hubs did repairs on our grill).  Another storm is headed out way late Monday into Tuesday, but it's too soon to really know what kind of additional snow we'll see from that.

MIL is here for the afternoon and Hubs is making a nice vegetarian quiche for us for dinner.  Fire is blazing and the house is toasty warm.

A reminder, the tag for this week's TinyTuesday is TT133 and the theme is "Seasonal" which you may interpret in a multitude of ways.  We will be sticking with the seasonal theme for the rest of this month so have soem fun with it!

Thank you for all the love yesterday on my snowy cardinal.  As I browsed through Blipfoto last night, I saw quite a lot of those showy red birds, so apparently I'm not the only one who finds them pretty irresistible.

Cheers,
Debbi
