Barges on the River Medway

Days slip by so quickly. We took a car for its annual service this morning calling in at the supermarket for supplies for our guests tonight and staying for a coffee.

Back home we cooked tonight’s dinner - beef and ale stew from the Hairy Dieters book. It was then lunch time and the car was ready.

On the way home we parked up at Allington Lock, walking along the River Medway into town and back past this line of moored barges which are always fascinating and can be counted on to provide a blip.

By then it was all hands to the pump, making a sponge pudding, setting table, doing the shopping online for tomorrow. We were ready, airline stewardess style, minutes before Nigel and Hazel arrived. A good evening ensued apart from the clearing up at the end.

So, slipped by another day.
