Gently down the stream

Goat willow

This is goat willow (salix caprea) growing by the stream just down from my house.  It was about the only bright spot of colour I saw during my walk on this horribly grey day.  I have already blipped it this year but this is the next stage on.  And as it's in my wildflower field guide it's going onto my this year's blipped wildflower list.

The other interesting thing I saw on my walk were hundreds of toadlets in the Winnall Moors pond.  Providing the heron hasn't got them all before the sun comes out again, I shall try for a sparkly shot of them to show you.

Apart from that, today was a long meeting with the solicitor followed by a coffee session with a friend that - though nice - wasn't quite the light relief I'd hoped it would be.

Thanks so much for your lovely reaction to Duke yesterday, who is now on page 1 of pops.  I shall try to thank you individually for all hearts, but can I say here a big thanks for all the stars too and the great comments  xx
