Because it was there...

Dear Diary,

I suppose this is the sort of image that people looking at this journal in the future will say, "Why in the world did she photograph THAT?"  But sometimes the simplest things just draw my eye.  The last of the snow settled into the edge of the flower bed and made a lovely "S" shape.  That and the pattern of shadow from the patio pergola made for an interesting composition I thought.

I have been working on a photo book of similar images...ones that are focused on design and simplicity. (I was inspired by my new Zen of photography book!)  I may include this one.  A couple of years ago I did a similar one of tiny yellow leaves creating the curve.  It is funny what catches our eye some days.
