FLOWER FRIDAY - WILD FLOWERS

Yesterday
     before the grass was cut
          for the first time 
               this year
I spotted some
     tiny blue 
          speedwell flowers
               amongst the daisies
So I picked a few
     of both
          to brighten up 
               my kitchen windowsill
                    and here they are!
Their siblings 
     cut down 
          in their prime
               now consigned
                    to the compost heap
They will be missed
     but they will 
          grow again
But in the meantime
     I have the joy
          of seeing 
               and enjoying
Their beauty.
