Life in Sunny Dubai

Another picture was taken from a moving car by G who was in the passenger seat. We were heading South towards G's school, driving past an area that is being developed. As you would expect, the new buildings are totally changing the face of this neighbourhood. I think it is the green poles (or whatever they are) in the truck that caught G's eye.

I could not sleep last night, no matter how hard I tried. I think I might have had three hours all together. Maybe it was because I had to wake at 6am. We'd been given notice that the tank was being cleaned, so there would be no water for seven hours. G & I were showered and ready to go out by 7, but we waited until 8.

First stop was Sports City to pick up Simone and all her luggage. She left today to start a new life in Jordan, and it was great to be able to give her a ride to the airport. Everything went smoothly and she got through with all her bags without having to pay anything extra. We have since heard that she's arrived safely and has been given nice accommodation!

We then headed to IKEA for breakfast! We haven't done that in ages, and as there were a couple of things we wanted to get from there, we killed two birds with one stone.

G had a shorter day at work, so whilst she taught, I had my haircut. Everything flowed so smoothly today, it was fantastic! I picked G up and we came straight home. Fortunately, the tank job was finished ahead of schedule, so I was happy! I was then able to reschedule another hair appointment and go almost immediately! Incredible!

G made a tuna pasta bake whilst I was out, so it was super to come home to a meal. Those are the highlights of the day. Oh, it is blip buddy rachelwhynot's birthday today!
